FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I extend my trip? Yes, by all means. Contact Karen Kettle (see contact information) who can walk you through the various possibilities.

Is it possible to join the group in Italy? Of course. Again, Karen Kettle can assist you with your arrangements.

If I do not live in Toronto, may I depart from another location? You have the option of organizing a connecting flight to Toronto in order to join up with the group, or you can fly directly from your own city and meet the group in Tuscany. Contact Karen Kettle.

What is not included in the tour price? Spending money, a few lunches, snacks, and the villa you might consider purchasing in the Tuscan hills!

Do I need to know Italian? Not at all. But we have no doubt you'll be going home with some!

What documentation do I need? Canadian and US citizens require a valid passport to enter Italy.

I'm single but would like to share a room with someone. Will you assist me in finding a roomate? We always do our best to find you a suitable roommate, however if this is not possible you will be required to pay the single supplement.

What can I do on my free days? Two of the days are a weekend, giving you an opportunity to travel further afield, if you like. Our past participants have thoroughly enjoyed the rest opportunities (spa, pool), the option to visit Florence again (it's only a short train-ride away), or any of the neighbouring towns, enrol in the elaborate cooking school day, bike ride, and so on. Yoga will be offered on two of the three days off. But don't worry, we will provide you with a cornucopia of ideas for how to spend your time, and in the end, there will be too many choices!

I'm a vegetarian/diabetic/have food allergies. Are the menus set and will this be a problem? There are multiple choices for all diets; you will always find something, and more!

I require trip cancellation and health insurance. Can you assist me with that? Yes, you can purchase travel insurance from Karen at Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

What is the weather in Tuscany at that time? The weather is consistently (and gloriously) warm and sunny with an average daytime high temperature of 25-30 and low of about 18-20. It's rare to see rain, but we might experience the very odd shower.

Is formal attire required at dinner?
We could say there is something of a Tuscan protocol (dress code) for the dining room at the hotel. No shorts are allowed (though micro-mini skirts have never been dissuaded!). With all its contradictions, it is charming nonetheless. While jeans are perfectly acceptable, the European guests do seem to "change" for dinner.

I am not interested in yoga. Should this be a deterrent for me taking the trip? Absolutely not! Yoga is optional and is offered during the times when we are back at the hotel. You can choose yoga as easily as you can choose to nap or lose yourself in a wonderful novel in the garden or by the poolside, for example.
