Yoga

What is yoga?
Yoga is a health maintenance system that uses several mind body practices to enhance well being, optimize body systems, and assist in the connection to life. Some of these practices resemble stretches, breathing exercises, or even animal shapes, to name but a few. The system of yoga allows us to connect to our most radiant inner potential.

Scott's approach:
Scott approaches yoga as a tool that allows us to be more fully awake to our experience. By enhancing our connection to what is most alive in our body sensations, yoga practice greatly supports our enjoyment of the beauty and life around us. Scott's teaching appeals to both new and experienced students of yoga, in its relevance and presentation. In a non-competitive and supportive way, the teachings encourage us to seek our edge, open our hearts, and realize the highest possible expression of our selves.

Yoga in Tuscany:
The yoga on the trip will be a unique synthesis of dynamic, vigorous and active practices, with elements of restoration, deeper contemplation and meditation. The main objectives of the yoga practices are to harmonize and support the soul enriching process of exploration in the stunning beauty of Tuscany.

Scott offers his thoughts:
I am excited to have the opportunity to offer the yoga component of this comprehensive experiential tour of Tuscany this summer. As Tuscany is such a stunning environment, full of sensorial beauty, the yoga practice will be an integral part of preparing and opening our bodies and minds to experience more deeply. The yoga will be tailored to the level of the group, but in general the practices will be both challenging and supportive, blending precision with grace. There will be yoga practice available everyday depending on the capacity and needs of the group, and the practice duration and number of practices per day will vary in harmony with Shelley Hornstein's magical 12 day itinerary.

Please note: Please bring along your own yoga mat. We do not supply yoga mats. You are permitted two pieces of checked luggage. You may choose to check your yoga mat and yoga bag (if you have one) separately. The other option that I find quite simple is to fold your mat as you would a legal size of paper to fold into an envelope. Then place it at the bottom of your luggage. Pack on top of that!
